1 Kings 12 tells us about Rehoboam (verses 1-19) and Jeroboam (verses
20-33). God was looking beyond both of these men. He was looking ahead
to the reign of King Josiah (1 Kings 13:2). For the fulfilment of this
prophecy, we must look on to 2 Kings 23:15-20. God is always ahead of
us. We live in our present. He is calling us on to His future.
